First published in 1975 under pseudonym Elizabeth Riley and set in Sydney, All that False Instruction was republished in 2003 under the author’s real name, Kerryn Higgs, and relocated to its original setting of Melbourne. It is a classic novel of early 1970s lesbian life and of the women’s liberation movement, depicting a young woman’s determination to free herself from the restrictions of her life.
